“Just because somethin’ looks easy, doesn’t mean it is.”

“If it looks easy, then it’s not what I’m looking for…”

“Sir, we’re in position,” comes the call from Iha. I sit in my car just down the street from Tolemy’s residence. Now that I’m in the area I…feel off about this. It’s…too easy. Granted a lot of people don’t seem to think ahead when doing something like kidnapping but… I call Richards.

“Sir?”

“Check the basement area again. Have Camby go to the front door and run interference.”

“Something wrong sir?”

“Something is…off about this.”

“Understood.”

Six more cars have arrived along with Jessup since the first and it has the making of a standard party among select staff members. All of the information that we received in the last hour starts running through my head again. Something is too easy about… “Yes,” I say answering my phone.

“Sir I’ve checked in the basement, there is no sign of anyone being held there. It looks like they were moving furniture down here, too much to hold someone hostage,” she says. Her petite frame makes it easy for her to move about the shadows so I know that she is able to get right to the basement windows with no problem.

“Thank you,” I reply. I run through the conversation I had with the woman. Something in the way… “Yes,”

“Sir, there are no signs of Daniels in the house,” says Camby. He was allowed inside so I know he took stock of everything that was going on inside, “Tolemy printed off instructions in his upstairs office and all the doors were open to the rooms on that floor as well as downstairs. I’ve confirmed that Jessup is inside among the guests.”

“Thank you,” I say and end the call. I close my eyes and let out a breath. He’s not here. My phone rings again, “Yes.”

“You thought it was Tolemy,” the voice says, “And here I thought you were smart.”

“I will get him back.”

“With thinking like that you don’t deserve him,” then line then goes dead. I run a hand through my hair.

They were planted to lead me to Tolemy. Fuck! And I fell for it. My phone rings again, “Yes.”

“Get back here Ares,” says Daevin, “We’ve got a problem.”

“What.”

“Markus is gone and so is Kenneth.”

“When were they last seen?”

“Kenny-boy was in the pen until Thursday afternoon. The footage shows Markus coming to get him at four ten. Seven of his handlers are gone as well. I asked his top Dommes and they don’t know where he could’ve gone. They don’t ask and he doesn’t tell, well he wouldn’t tell them anyway,” Anthony says sitting his mug down on the coffee table, “Bro’s down there now givin’ ‘em hell.”

“It was him all along,” I say to myself. I sit back in the chair next to the couch and close my eyes. Rex has a multitude of places he can hide my Sky, and those are only the ones I know about. Fuck, this is really pissing me off now. Since it’s Rex we’re dealing with now I’m not holding back. I will have his blood on my hands, “Has he purchased any property recently?”

“If he has it wasn’t with company money,” Anthony says, “Your comp people are hacking into his accounts now. Actually they’ve been at it for like an hour now. Who knew Rex was good at keeping people out of his computers.”

“He does have a masters in computer engineering in that list of degrees,” I say, “And his brother is a world class hacker.”

“Shit, they might not be able to break his encryptions.”

“Rex and his brother don’t get along so I doubt Simon would help him.”

“You think he’d help us?”

“No.”

“Why not?”

“He doesn’t like your brother even more.”

“But he likes you right?”

“I work for your brother. Guilt by association.”

“…Damn,” Anthony is actually quiet for once, “What if you make it worth his while? You know, to stick it to his brother?” Spoke too soon.

“He’s not going to help us Anthony. He’s not even in the States.”

“Oh…”

The door opens and I open my eyes in that direction. Sienna walks over and hands me a sheet of paper. “We’ve gotten into his accounts sir,” the intense black haired woman says, “This is a list of all the properties he’s purchased in the last year with his own money. The last ten are the only ones that aren’t within the city limits.”

“Thank you,” I say scanning the paper. I see her leave out of the corner of my eye.

“Uh, Ares?”

“What,” I say still looking over the list.

“How long has she been here?”

“I hired her when I started working here. She doesn’t work within in building that’s why you’ve never seen her.”

“Oh.”

“I thought you were interested in Giovanni.”

“I am, it’s just that-,”

“She’s his youngest sister, they’ve all got their father’s eyes, but she’s the only one with their mother’s hair color. She’s also one of the best hackers on the planet.”

“Oh…”

“You were wondering why she had the same kind of eyes.”

“…Yeah,” he pauses, “Shit I’m off track here. We’ve still gotta find Sky. You think Rex still has him in the city?”

“It’s a possibility,” I say leaning over to pick up my cell phone and dial, “Iha, get Lee, Mair, Hain, and Notts and come to my office please,” I say then close my phone.

“You’re going to search the properties?”

I nod and get up from the chair and head to the kitchen. I still don’t look in the direction of his desk as I walk past and when I get into the kitchen I notice that a fresh pot of coffee has been made.

“I thought you might want some coffee since you really haven’t had anything since all of this started,” Anthony said behind me. I nod and pour some into a mug. I bring it to my lips after adding my cream and sugar and lean against the counter, “You’re gonna hurt him aren’t you.”

I swallow my coffee, “Absolutely.”

“Check the areas as well as their surroundings then check in with Rena or Jason. Make sure the property is clear before moving on to the next one. There is the possibility that the properties are under surveillance.”

“Yes sir. Who are you taking with you?” Iha asks.

“Markov, Villich, Ping, Bailey, and Loxsin. Once all of the closest properties within the city have been cleared head out. I’ll start out and work my way in. Mair, I want you doing the same. I’ll take the properties on the south and you the northeast.”

“Yes sir,” she says.

“When found keep Rex and Kenneth alive, kill the others.”

“Yes sir,” they say and head for the door.

“I’ll have Markov and the others waiting for you at the Chevy,” Iha says.

“Thank you.” I reply and walk over to my desk. Eleven seventeen is the time on the main screen. It feels like days have past in this amount of time. I set down my cell phone and head back to my room.

Two forty-one a.m. My team is on the third of seven properties outside the city limits south. All together Rex has eighteen pieces of property. Mair is on her last property on the northeast side. All houses, all set for rent, and all empty. Notts is headed towards property seven since his last four were putting him in that direction. I walk through the abandoned parking lot and see nothing but broken asphalt and weeds. The building was torn and part of it hauled away. The rest sits behind a rusting fence. I walk slowly back to the Suburban, my mind looking for clues in the videos of my Sky. Rex was careful not to have sound with each. If they were in a basement of some sorts then there wouldn’t be much outside noise. My phone rings, “Yes.”

“You should give up Ares, You won’t find him,” the voice says.

“I will find him and you will wish you were never born,” I say and hang up on him.

“Sir the area is clear,” Villich says walking towards me with the rest of the team. I nod and we head back to our vehicle. Once inside Markov heads to the next property. We’re set to meet Notts’s team around property five, a still functioning plastics plant.

Twenty minutes into the drive Markov takes notice of something to his left. I look in that direction. It’s the Gilmore-Tready warehouse. It closed down nine years ago and has been the site of raves during the summer time. Police have tried to close the area off in the past but the ravers still get in, “Must be a rave tonight,” he says and looks back to the road. I keep looking at the warehouse.

“Head there,” I say. Markov looks at me then turns left at the crossroads. As we near other cars are filing into that location. We pull in to the lot and see dozens of cars and when we step out the sound of the music permeates the air. Small flashes of light can be seem from various holes and poorly covered windows. The far end of the warehouse is two levels and I head in that direction, the others spreading out and doing the same.  As I come closer to the warehouse I hear muffled sounds of a struggle, it ends quickly. They’re here. I get to the building, Markov stops me as I look over to a row of freighter boxes and see Villich heading towards the overgrown hedges.

“There’s an entrance to the upstairs inside. I'm not sure if they’ve dismantled the outside one or not.”

“Have Ping and Loxsin go inside. I’ll check out here,” I say. He nods and heads in their direction.

I come to the corner of the warehouse. A yard light is functioning and it casts a shadow letting me know that there is a set of stairs on the back side of the building. I also see the movement of two people outside as well. I draw my gun and slip into shadowed side of the building. I stay close to the wall, the beats of the rave vibrating against me as I make my way to the back. I see a glint of metal and stop. The music prevents me from hearing anything. I continue slowly and see movement coming from the hedges before Villich comes into view, his gun ready. I make my way to the corner just in time to see the flash of his gun and the shadow of one person falling to the ground. The other shadow moves quickly away and I look around the corner to see a person going up the stairs. Villich fires again and the body slows then slumps over the rusting railing. I step out of the shadow and come over to the first body. It’s one of Rex’s handlers. I look up at the other and confirm the same thing. Villich takes hold of the body and drags it to the hedges. Bailey appears from between two stacks of pallets and heads towards the stairs. I pull out my phone and dial Rena.

“Sir.”

“Who else besides Notts is closest to the Gilmore-Tready warehouse?”

“Lee sir.”

“Have them come to the warehouse. They’ve been located.”

“Yes sir.”

I put my phone away and step back as Bailey heaves the body over the railing. Villich comes up and pulls that body into the hedges and I head to the bottom of the stairs. Bailey makes his way further up and comes to stop at a window. He peers inside as I start up the stairs. He looks back at me and shakes his head and keeps moving to the top. I come to the window and look in, just a view of the rave. Bailey waits as Villich and I come to meet him. He opens the door slowly and looks for any others. The sound of the rave is giving us good cover for a surprise attack. Bailey steps inside then Villich. Villich moves quickly and takes care of another handler coming from a room on our right. Bailey comes back and enters the room with Villich. I continue down the hall, the music rumbling beneath my feet, I barely make out the sounds coming from the room Bailey and Villich entered. I have no doubt they can handle all that are in there.

I stop at a small window that’s been painted over, small patches have peeled off and I look inside. My breath catches. Inside is a small table with a phone and a TDD. I scan the room and see my Sky tied down to a table, his hair spilling over it and into the floor. His arms bound behind him, the ropes tying off on the legs of the table. Two hands are gripping his forearms tightly. I look up the arms. The person thrusting into my Sky has black hair that stops just past his shoulders. He looks up, his eyes closed for a moment, then they open. It’s…Kenneth. Wren said that Rex had altered him again weeks ago. Rex made him look exactly like Sky. His eyes are the only thing that differentiates him from my Sky, his are fire colored. There’s a lustful smile on his face as he takes my Sky against his will. He bows his head again and starts thrusting harder. I look further to the right and see Rex sitting in a chair with a video camera watching it all take place. That fucking bastard will pay for this.

A hand at my shoulder snaps me from my anger. Bailey points in front of him at the room and I nod. Loxsin and Ping soon appear in the hallway from the inside along with Markov. I motion for then to follow Bailey as he nears the closed door.

“The rest were in that room sir,” Villich says into my ear before joining the others. Bailey looks in my direction. I nod. He kicks in the door and they flood the room. I close my eyes and take a breath. I put away my gun and enter the room.

Bailey and Ping have a stunned Rex up against the wall. Loxsin and Markov have Kenneth while Villich is untying the blindfold from my Sky. My Sky blinks a few times, his eyes widen as he focuses on the person in front of him and he jerks upon seeing Villich. He’s never seen him before. He tries to move away when Villich points in my direction. He looks quickly and calms as I come near him. Tears well in his eyes as I kneel in front of him and peel the duct tape away from his mouth while Villich cuts the ropes that hold him to the heavy table.

“I’m here my Sky,” I say against his ear as the last of the tape comes off his skin. I stand up and move around the table as his arms are now free. He flexes them slowly then moves to push himself upright while Villich cuts the ropes binding his legs to the back legs of the table. Once freed he steadies his legs then looks at me. I push his hair back over his shoulder and he leans into me, my arms come around him instantly. He buries his face in my chest and I feel his tears soaking into my shirt.

Loxsin’s com beeps, she nods and looks at me, “Sir, Notts is here. Lee is two minutes out.”

“Have Notts take these two back to Siren. Have Lee take care of the bodies,” I say, she nods and she and Villich move Kenneth as Bailey and Ping have taken Rex out of the room.

“You have such a sweet ass, little brother,” Kenneth says as a break comes within the music. He struggles to stay in the room and smiles when Sky looks in his direction. Sky jerks when he sees his tormentor for the first time, this latest version of my last assistant. His laughs are soon drowned out by the music as he’s finally wrenched from the room. He steadies his wobbly legs after a minute, the fact that Kenneth looked like him was a complete shock. I kiss the top of his head and he looks back to me.

“You’re safe now,” I say to him. He closes his eyes and nods.

The clock in the private room in the infirmary reads six-oh-three in the morning. My Sky was thoroughly checked over before he was allowed to rest. The ride back I had his head in my lap stroking his bangs as we were in the very back of the Suburban. The nurses met us as soon as the doors opened on the sixteenth and he was whisked away to the infirmary while Carol and Anthony asked me dozens of questions. Daevin told them to lay off and I was able to get up to the infirmary in relative peace. The head nurse showed me to the room he was in, letting me know that his injuries weren’t serious and that he’ll recover fully. As soon as the door closed behind him I sat down in the chair next to the bed and took his hand in mine. His eyes opened and he smiled back at me before closing them.

I stroke his bangs with my right hand. I know I will be beating myself up for this. I should have thought Rex to be likely since I thought of Wren. I would have noticed that he was gone, I would have had his accounts checked, I… I take a breath and sigh. My Sky is safe now, that is all that should matter, “I’m sorry it took so long to find you my Sky. Please forgive me,” I say then rest my head next to his and close my eyes.

Whatsa matta boy? You think you’re betta thanme? My dick ain’t good enough fo’ya? You been likin’ it all this time…Get o’er here…..whatta you doin’? Boy…put that down…that ain’t atoy.”

“I know.”

*BANG*

I wake with a start, I didn’t disturb my Sky, good. Why did I dream that? I haven’t thought about that night in close to thirty years. He should have stuck to hitting me and maybe it would have been some other kid that killed him instead of me. I lean over and kiss my Sky’s forehead. A knock breaks the silence of the room then Anthony’s head appears. I nod for him to enter and he steps inside closing the door quietly. He comes over to stand beside me and looks at my Sky.

“How’s he holdin’ up?” he whispers.

“No major damage physically, just scrapes and bruises,” I reply looking at him.

“I was just downstairs. Bro is livid. I saw…him. I can’t believe Rex did that.”

“He was planning this for a while since it takes time for the swelling to go down. He really wanted him.”

“I’m definitely glad bro gave him to you. That’s just…sick. I know I’ve got my fetishes, but damn.”

He lapses into silence for a while and I go back to stroking Sky’s bangs.

“How are you holdin’ up?”

“…I’m fine.”

“Why don’t you go get some rest, I can sit with him.”

I shake my head, “I’m fine.”

“I don’t mind.”

“No, but thank you anyway.”

My Sky stirs then opens his eyes, “…Ares?”

“I’m here my Sky.”

He gives me a sleepy smile, “…I feel like crap. Probably look like it too.”

“You’re fine.”

He snorts and tries to move onto his back. He grimaces and moves back to his side, “Damn, my ass hurts,” then his eyes clear of the sleepiness and I can tell he’s thinking about last night. Anger flares I his amethyst orbs and he looks at me, “Was that him? Was that Kenneth?”

“Yes.”

“I thought you said we had a similar appearance. That fucker looked like he could be my twin.”

“Rex altered him again,” I say, “It seems he was planning this for some time.”

“…It’s not…true is it? He’s not my…brother. No, he can’t be. There’s no way in hell that he’s related to me. Where are they? Are they dead?”

“No,” comes Anthony, “Bro’s layin’ into them now. He wants you to decide what happens to them.”

My Sky looks up at Anthony, “Oh, hey Anthony.”

Anthony smiles, “Glad to have ya back Sky.”

Sky closes his eyes for a moment, “…I wanna see them.”

“Get some more rest first,” I say, “They aren’t going anywhere.”

“Are they here?”

“In one of his holding cells,” says Anthony, “Chambers is right though, you should get some more rest before you deal with them. They can’t go anywhere and none of his people are allowed near them. And besides, if you don’t get any rest, neither will he,” he says nodding his head in my direction.

“Ares? Have you gotten any sleep?”

“A little.”

“See? If you don’t rest, he won’t.”

My Sky looks at me, “Ares, get some rest.”

“I’m fine.”

“You look worn out.”

“I’m ok, but you do need to rest some more.”

“Only if you promise to rest too.”

“…I promise.”

My Sky looks around the room. He wants to leave. I don’t blame him. I never liked being in these rooms either, “Um….do I have to stay here? This bed really isn’t that comfortable.”

“No, you can come back to the office. The doctors just wanted to check you. They said you fell asleep as soon as they were done so they brought you here.”

“Oh. Good. Let’s get out of here,” he says trying to sit up.

“I’ll get you a chair,” Anthony says then leaves. After a few grunts, my Sky manages to sit up. I sit next to him on the bed and he leans against me.

“It’s true, isn’t it,” he whispers.

“Not now. Wait ‘til we get back to the office.”

“…Take me to them. Please.”

“We can do that later my Sky. First we get some rest.”

I let my fingers weave into his raven locks. He’s been asleep ever since we came back to the office. I had Anthony take care of a few things before finally getting into bed myself, my Sky moving towards me as soon as I got under the sheets. I fell asleep feeling his arm come about my chest and his head against my shoulder. I only managed to sleep about three hours. Sky is going to want the truth. I don’t want to tell him, I hoped I never have to tell him, knowing the person that assaulted you was related to you…I can’t even begin to know how he’ll feel about that. I look down at the arm over my chest. Bruises mar his skin from the handlers and the ropes. I have no love-loss for them. They should have kept their hands off my Sky. This probably would be easier on my Sky if I had just ended them at the warehouse. My Sky stirs and I look at him. His sleepy eyes open and he shifts his head to rest on my shoulder, “How do you feel?”

“…Shower…magic…food…”

“Come on, let’s take a shower.”

“…Yaaaaaay…” he kisses my shoulder and moves to sit up.

“Are you still sore?”

“…A little, but I really need a shower.”

I get up and head to the bathroom and start the shower. Soon after I step inside the door opens and my Sky steps in behind me, his arms coming around my waist. I tug him in front of me. He stands under the spray and moans at the feeling of warm water flowing over his body. I get to work cleaning his body. I look over the other bruises and shallow cuts over his legs and my guilt for not finding him sooner grows. I know that they will fade over time, but I should have been able to prevent them.  I put the shampoo in his hair and his arms come around me like before. The last video recording had me wanting to rip that bastard’s arms off when he touched his hair. During the ride back I braided it loosely so it would be out of the way of the nurses, I didn’t want anyone else playing with his tresses. When we got back to my room I took it a loose when he fell asleep.

“You’re really good at this Ares,” he says as I work the conditioner into his hair.

“Thank you.”

He leans his head against my chest as the conditioner sets, his arms tighten around me, It really is true, isn’t it.”

“…Yes.”

“…When did you find out?”

“A little over a month after you started here. The lab noticed that you two had the same blood type and tested your DNA and found that you two have the same father.”

“…You’ve never met him right? That guy she named me after?”

“No, but I believe Rex may have. I can tell you that he’s dead. He was killed in a wreck three years ago. Kenneth missed a week from work to attend the funeral out west.”

“So he knew him…”

“He said that he left his mother when he was two but came back a few years later and they moved out west. After he graduated high school he moved back here.”

“So that asshole would take care of one, but not the other….Figures.”

I tighten my hold on him.

“…As far as I’m concerned, I have no family.”

I can understand completely, “Let me get this out,” I say. My Sky tips his head back and I rinse out the conditioner. I get the excess water from his hair and we step out of the shower. I start drying his hair with a towel when a knock on the bathroom door.

“Hey if you guys are hungry, I’m makin’ pancakes,” calls Anthony from the other side.

It’s morning?” my Sky asks me.

“It should be the afternoon by now,” I reply.

“…And he makin’ pancakes?”

“He likes to make breakfast foods at all hours but breakfast hours.”

“…Strange…”

“He is.”

“So who’s been working while I was gone?” my Sky asks as we head to the front room. He notes that his desk is clean of papers. Anthony had a huge stack of pancakes in various tastes hot and waiting when we came into the kitchen. After my Sky got some coffee into him he finished off most of the stack, genuinely surprised that Anthony was as good in the kitchen as his brother. They spent time discussing various recipes and I was glad that Sky’s getting himself back into some sort of normalcy.

“Probably Lauren, she likes your filing system.”

“…Who were those people you came with last night? I’ve never seen them before.”

“They handle some of the messier jobs,” I reply sitting down on the couch. He sits down and faces me.

“…Can I ask you something?”

“Yes.”

“…How many people have you killed?”

“…Enough,” I say looking in his eyes.

“Have you killed people before you started working here?”

“Yes.”

The file I left with him after his first day working for Siren held information that would have made anyone else afraid to set foot in the company. Though it wasn’t detailed, it told enough of the things that take place within the Siren Corporation.

“…How old were you when you first killed someone?”

“Ten,” his eyes widen when he hears this.

“…What…”

“You…son of a…bitch…I’M GONNA KILL YOU!”

“No you’re not…”

*BANG…BANG*

“I was put in the care of a man that only wanted kids to get a check. It was only a few weeks after I started living with him that he would beat me. First few times he was drunk, then he just did it when he felt stressed. One day he found me with another boy and he put two-and-two together.”

“Did you tell someone that he was beating you?”

“They didn’t believe me, not even the social worker assigned to me.”

“What happened after that?”

“They thought I had some mental problems and placed me in a psych ward for six months. It turned out that my only mental problem was that I was really smart and they put me back into the system.”

He leans against me as we sit in silence. I am a damaged individual, I can not escape that. I know every bit of what he went through and it frustrates me that it happened to him. I know that my Sky hasn’t had an easy time of life, but no one should have to go through what he went through in the last twenty-six hours.

“..What should I do? It’s not like we can turn them into the police or anything.”

“It’s your decision how you want to handle them. It will not leave this building,” I say. He rests his head on my shoulder and silence comes between us again. After some time my Sky sits up and looks at me.

“I wanna see this asshole that thought I was his bitch.”

I look at him. I can see that he’s trying to hold back the anger. He wants answers. It’s the same look he had after his confrontation with Jessup when I called him in. He’s fed up with people taking advantage of him and yesterday they did in the worst way. I nod and we get up. Just as we head to the door Carol steps in. She runs over and crushes my Sky with a hug. After a minute of letting her know that he was alright she finally let him go. For a smaller person, she does have a grip when it comes to hugging someone. She then leaves and we head downstairs to the eighteenth. I call Daevin and let him know that we’re headed down to see Rex and Ames. The walk to the elevator and down to the eighteenth was made in silence. I have no clue as to what my Sky is thinking right now. Not everyone would be willing to meet the person that assaulted them in such a manner, and with the added knowledge of that person being a relation, my Sky is truly a strong person. I love him.

The doors open to the eighteenth and we are met by Jacobsen. He walks with us over to the far left on the floor. As we head towards the holding cells, various pets look in our direction, many with sneers since we have taken their master away from them. He shouldn’t have touched my Sky. Jacobsen pushes open the double doors that lead to the specially designed holding cells Rex made for his disobedient pets and new ones needing to be broken in. Rex sits in the first cell to the let of us with his harms shackled to the wall behind him and a ball gag in his mouth, his eyes showing pure hatred. I stop to look at him while my Sky walks ahead to the next cell that holds his surgically created twin. I look away from Rex and see that Kenneth’s in a jacket with the sleeves designed to zip up around the body like a straight jacket but leaving the hands free. There are hooks in the shoulders of the jacket have him suspended a few inches off the floor from chains coming from the ceiling. His ankles are shackled to the floor to keep him in place and like Rex he has a gag in his mouth. My Sky talks to Jacobsen and Jacobsen goes inside the cell and removes the gag from his mouth.

“So you want to talk to your big brother huh?” he croaks out. Jacobsen steps out of the cell and stands next to Sky.

“I don’t know who the fuck you are, but you’re definitely not my brother.”

“Like it or not I am. Master Rex told me I had a sibling that was here in Siren. It’s nice to know I’ve got family. I was overjoyed when he said that I’d be able to see you and get to know you. I really enjoyed bonding with you little bro,” he says, his grin sick and sinister. I should have killed him a long time ago.

“You call that shit bonding? You fucking raped me! How the hell is that bonding?”

“Aw, what’s wrong little bro? You didn’t like my love? I could have sworn you did. I mean, with the way you were cumming-,”

“Shut the fuck up you asshole!”

You’ve made my Sky mad now. Jacobsen didn’t notice that my Sky swiped his bowie. He walks around behind Jacobsen and into the cell, bowie out of view of Jacobsen. He goes up to Kenneth and stands there. Kenneth looks down at him and smiles. I walk over to Jacobsen watching my Sky intensely. I sincerely hope that my Sky does not take his life. That’s a job that I should do, not him. It’s my fault he’s still alive anyway.

“He is Markus’s pet now. You don’t have to worry about him.”

“He needs to die.”

“With the way Markus plays with his pets, he’ll think he’s died and gone to hell.”

“I don’t care Patrick, he dies.”

“Ares it’s been taken care of. He can’t come near you. Markus keeps his new pets on tight leashes. You’ll probably never even see him again.”

“…Fine…”

“Chambers,” Daevin whispers just behind me. I blink and look at my Sky.

“Oh, what, ya gonna cut me little bro? That’s not-,” his sentence is interrupted by the knife slashing deep across his left cheek, blood flowing quickly soaking into the white fabric of the jacket. Jacobsen realizes that’s his knife my Sky is using and checks himself out of reflex. He makes a more to the cell and I grab his arm and shake my head. Sky watches the blood grow along the front of the jacket.

“I’m glad I never met that person you call your dad.”

Kenneth smiles at him, the gash deep enough to part and show his side teeth. He barely flinched when my Sky cut him. It seems that Rex trained him well not to react to pain, “Heh, you’re his kid too little bro.”

“No I’m not,” my Sky cuts his right cheek in the same manner, “And the name’s Sky, bitch.”

“Daniels,” Daevin speaks up. My Sky looks back at Daevin, his eyes the same as that day with Jessup.

“I’m not going to kill him Mr. Daevin, that would be an easy way out for him. He does need to be somebody’s bitch though. I don’t think Rex has used him like that,” he looks over at Rex. Bars are all that separate the cells so each pet can see what’s being done to others, “Have ya Rex. You don’t look like the kind of fucked up bastard that actually shoves your dick into any of the pets you play with,” my Sky looks back at Kenneth, “I can’t stand him looking like me, that’s just too fuckin’ creepy for my tastes,” he brings the bowie up over his left eye, Kenneth actually jerking as the blade slices across his eye and leaving a gash in his forehead to the roots of his dyed black hair. My Sky wipes the blade clean on a section of the jacket that hasn’t been decorated with blood and steps out of the cell. He hands Jacobsen the bowie, “Sorry ‘bout that. I lost my butterfly.”

Jacobsen nods and takes his knife.

“What about Rex?” Daevin asks. I see Rex jerk at the mention of his name.

My Sky shrugs, “Let him be a fuck toy. Let him see how it feels to have people touching you all the damn time when you don’t want them to.”

Daevin nods, looking at his former head of S and M.

“Oh yeah, as little lube as possible, too. He should be able to handle it. Can’t ya Rex,” my Sky says with a slight smile.

Rex sneers behind his gag as we walk past him. We walk to the elevator in silence. Once inside, my Sky leans against me. I wrap my arm around him and kiss the top of his head.

“Are you ok?” he nods and I hug him closer to me. The three of us come back to my office, Sky and myself sitting on the couch and Daevin in the chair.

“Somehow, I have the feeling that you’ve had to do something like that before,” Daevin says after a while. My Sky nods.

“Not long after I got my knife some guy thought I needed to come home with him one night when I was at a party. I was heading to my home and he kept telling me that he’d take me home but I had a feeling that wasn’t in his game plan, so when he put his hands on me to try and make me get into his car I caught him across the face and took off.”

“You’ve never seen him again?” I ask.

“…Actually, he works for Omandin. I was kinda shocked when I saw him. I thought after the meeting he was gonna come lookin’ for me, but I guess he thought better of it or something.”

“Omandin does some of the same…things we do, just on a smaller scale,” Daevin says, “They know not to mess with anyone from Siren, especially the securities division.”

“Oh.”

Daevin looks at me. The look on his face already telling me what he wants, “I’m hoping that since Tobias wasn’t behind all of this Chambers, that you’ll decide to stay.”

“You were gonna leave?” my Sky asks me.

“I originally thought that Wren and Waterford were behind your kidnapping. I told Daevin once I found you I was done with the company.”

“Oh.”

“And you would be coming with me.”

“But-,”

“Daevin was in no position at the time to deny me that right, especially if it involved his friend.”

My Sky nods, “But since he wasn’t behind it, you’re gonna stay?”

“I’d rather you stay Ares,” Daevin says, “There aren’t many people in the world that can do what you do and at the level you do it.”

He is right about that. Anyone else would really fuck up the system and the staff I created in this division would not stand for it, “Fine, I’ll stay.”

“Thank you Ares,” he says a smile coming to his face, “Now the two of you get the hell out of here. I don’t want to see either of you for the next three months, got it?” I just look at Daevin, “I’ve got it covered Ares. The two of you need a serious vacation. If either of you set foot in this building I’ll have you arrested for trespassing.”

Wha?” comes my Sky.

“You heard me Daniels. Take your workaholic boyfriend here and go someplace with lots of sun. Come to think of it, the two of you could use a tan. Use the company house in Greece. I think Anthony is off to Europe as well. He said something about blue jeans and your ex Chambers, what’s that all about?”

“Long story,” I say getting up from the couch, my Sky coming with me. He slips his hand into mine, “We’ll see you in three months.”
